The designated pattern will take office in August

A year ago exactly, the removal of advertising after 20 hours on France Television antennas became effective. This was the dramatic aspect of the reform desired by the head of State, Nicolas Sarkozy. Today, it is the component less "flakes" and especially heavy on the plan of the organization which is in motion: the public audiovisual group turns into a single enterprise. On paper, the transfer took place on March 5, 2009, date of enactment of the Broadcasting Act.

But, this morning, the new organization is actually installed. The group is indeed implementing five directions: the first devoted to the antennas, the second to the management and human resources, the third for communications and marketing, the fourth technology and the fifth to the networks. The names of five persons for these five directions to CAP will be known in the day, but, except last minute surprises, it should be of the coordinators of the reflection on reorganization appointed in February 2009 by Patrick de Carolis, President of the group. Namely Patrice Duhamel antenna, Damien Cuier for management and human resources, Claude-Yves Robin for communication and marketing, François Guilbeau for technologies and Geneviève Giard for networks.

Single collective

Second crucial appointment expected in the implementation of the single undertaking: the unions of France television will have to sign a single collective agreement, it also. The Act has set a deadline: June 5, 2010, 15 months after its enactment. The direction is to convey to the representatives of the employees a draft convention which, among other things, puts an end to JABs mixed synonymous of a form of co-management system. Trade unions do not yet voted. But discussions should deepen in the spring: both parties must in any event find an agreement. Otherwise, it would be the convention of France television SA (the former head of the group holding) that would apply, and it is much less favourable to certain categories of staff, for example journalists.

What President from 2010 to 2015

After this reorganization: the appointment of a new President - or, why not, Patrick de Carolis renewal. The designated pattern will take office in August. Patrick de Carolis has indicated that he intended to leave a company having completed its reorganization. While the Parisian rumours go good train on his potential successor, he did still not unveiled was candidate for a new mandate. His credit, a true turn editorial for France television, with a place made for culture. A bet of course risky in terms of the hearing: thus, the release of the exhibit "The miser", December 26, brought together only one small million viewers, or an audience share of 4.7 which is equivalent, in comparison, an excellent score for a string of the TNT as TMC and W9! But these figures are fully borne by the direction of France television, which has constantly shout that bring culture to the antenna in prime time at a price.

Also good is it, the balance sheet of Patrick de Carolis will not suffice to ensure a renewal. The misadventures of Jean-Paul Cluzel, the former President of Radio France, is in memory: despite an excellent record at Radio France, both at the level of the antenna of the social climate or management, Nicolas Sarkozy has decided to substitute Jean-Luc Hees.

The timing of the appointment of the President of France television stations over the period 2010-2015 is also subject to multiple rumours. According to "The Point", Patrick de Carolis obtained Claude Guéant, Secretary General of the Elysee, that no name is formalized before June, either two months before the expiry of its own mandate. According to many observers, it is unlikely anyway for Nicolas Sarkozy to take the risk to designate the President of France television before the regional elections in March, history does not give the grain grinding the opposition.
